Here are some of my favorite things to do to pass the time.

genealogy

I've worked on my genealogy off and on for the last fifteen years. It fascinates me to find where we come from and the stories our ancestors have to tell. We've made several trips to courthouses and cemeteries looking for lost relatives. We have spent countless hours reading census, vital records and books. Computers and the internet have made this more fun and a whole lot easier. I use Family Treemaker and Legacy computer programs to keep track of all my records.

Department 56

I collect Department 56 Villages. Most are the Dickens Village and The Heritage Village Collection. I have 35 houses and some of the accessories. Three of my houses are of the original seven made. Probably my most prized piece is the Tower of London. My favorite piece is Gad Hill Mansion. The thrill of the hunt to acquire retired pieces is as much enjoyment as setting it up at Christmas time. I just recently found auctions on the internet that sells these pieces.

Crafts

I love to sew and do crafts. I go through spurts on the sewing. I made halloween costume for my granddaughter and 58 costumes for our church's Christmas program last year. We had a small craft business, but had to give it up. I've tried a lot of different crafts but sewing, painting and woodworking are my favorites.

This has been my newest pastime. I am having quite a fun time creating graphics. I am just learning how to do this. If a computer illiterate like me can do this anyone can.

Golf

Of course, I must include George's favorite pastime. It's Golf. If he isn't playing it for real, he's watching it on TV, reading magazines or playing it on the computer. He eats, sleeps and drinks golf. He plays single games, team games and tournaments on the net.
